New Delhi. Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets on the fourth day of the Kanpur Test match against Bangladesh. The Indian off-spinner has created history with this. Ashwin has become the first bowler in the world to have taken more than 50 wickets in all three editions of the World Test Championship.

The fourth day of the India-Bangladesh Test match proved to be very exciting. On this day both the teams together scored 437 runs and also took 18 wickets. Out of these, 3 wickets went to Ravichandran Ashwin. With this, Ashwin completed his 50 wickets in the current cycle of WTC 2023-25. Ashwin achieved this feat by dismissing Shakib Al Hasan in the first innings of Bangladesh. After this, Ashwin took 2 wickets in the second innings of Bangladesh also.

Ashwin overtakes Hazlewood
38-year-old R Ashwin now has 52 wickets in the current season of WTC. No one has been able to take more wickets than him. Josh Hazlewood of Australia is at second place with 51 wickets. After Ashwin and Hazlewood, Pat Cummins (48) is at third place.

6 wickets to leave Lion behind
Ravichandran Ashwin had earlier taken 71 wickets in the first edition of WTC (2019-21). He was second in terms of taking most wickets in the first edition. After this he took 61 wickets in the second edition. Overall, Ashwin has taken 182 wickets in 37 matches of three editions of WTC. As soon as he takes six more wickets, he will leave behind Nathan Lyon (187).

India on the way to victory in Kanpur Test
Talking about Kanpur Test, India restricted Bangladesh to 233 runs in the first innings. After this, he declared his first innings after scoring 285 runs for 9 wickets. In this way it got a lead of 52 runs over Bangladesh. After this, India took 2 wickets for 26 runs in the second innings of Bangladesh also. In this way, Bangladesh team is 26 runs behind India even after losing 2 wickets in the second innings. There is now pressure on Bangladesh to save the match.
