Ind Vs Ban: 50% spectators will sit only at the stand which PWD declared dangerous in Green Park


Kanpur: The number of spectators’ galleries has been fixed for the Test match between India and Bangladesh to be held at Green Park Stadium from September 27. Now more than 26,000 spectators will be able to enjoy this match. PWD had declared one stand of the stadium weak, after which spectators were banned from sitting there. But after the safety report and repairs by HBTU, now spectators will be able to sit in that balcony also. This balcony will have a seating capacity of 1,700 spectators above and 1,900 spectators below.

The venue director of Green Park informed that this time 5,000 additional seats have been made available as compared to the Test match held three years ago. The balcony, which was earlier declared dangerous, has been allowed to sit for spectators after its repair and safety check.

flood lights completely fine
Venue Director Sanjay Kapoor said that all the flood lights of Green Park are in fine condition and the ground is completely ready for the match. He said that the audience will get to see a great match this time in Kanpur.

Strong arrangements for protection from rain
The ground has been covered due to light rain in Kanpur. The venue director also said that excellent drainage arrangements have been made in the stadium to deal with the rain, and two super sprinkler machines are also available, so that the ground can be dried quickly.

A celebration for Kanpur
Venue Director Dr. Sanjay Kapoor said, “Green Park Stadium has been completely decorated and all preparations for the match have been completed. This match will be like a celebration not only for Green Park but for the entire Kanpur.”
