Brisbane. Travis Head is happy to score another century against India but the Australian batsman admitted that he was lucky not to face Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant spell on the second day of the third Test. Travis Head played an inning of 152 runs. This is his third century in his last 6 innings against India. Along with Steve Smith (101), he took the Australian team to a huge score of 405 runs for seven wickets.

Travis Head told the TV channel that telecasted the match live, ‘I was a little lucky to escape Bumrah’s good spell. He initially bowls the ball at the base of the stump. He has a good bouncer. He has excellent wicket-taking balls. I believe that the most important thing is to play positive against them. This does not mean that I need to score runs against them but it is about my forward defence.

Travis Head is happy to maintain his dominance over India. He scored a century in the WTC final at the Oval last year and then scored a century in Adelaide in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Head said, ‘We play a lot with India. It is good to score runs. Scoring runs this week too is special. I thought I had batted well in Adelaide and Perth also.

He said, ‘It is very challenging to face India. One should be as positive as possible against them. Head also praised Smith, with whom he made a 241-run partnership for the fourth wicket and put Australia in a strong position. He said, ‘I have always enjoyed playing with Steve. When he is in rhythm and bats well, no one pays attention to me. I thought he was playing really well.

The 30-year-old Head was on course to score his maiden double century in Tests but did not seem too upset at missing out on the feat. He said, ‘I am just trying to score runs. I am not here to set milestones, I love the team. I enjoy what I do. I try to do what the team needs.
