A 5-match test series is being played between India and Australia. Whose third match will be played at Gabba, Brisbane from Saturday 14th December. Earlier, India had got a great victory in the first test whereas in the second test it had to face defeat. After which both the teams are currently tied at 1-1 in the series. Both of them will now have their eyes on taking the lead in the series, but before that, rain has spoiled their dreams.
Actually, there is a possibility of rain on all five days of the third Test match to be played between India and Australia. According to the weather forecast, there is a maximum probability of 88 percent rain on the first day of the match. Whereas there are more than 40 percent chances of rain on the second and fourth days also. At the same time, the forecast for the third day and fifth day is much better, in which there may be rain around 20 percent. Which will hardly affect the game.
Now the question in the minds of the fans is that if the Gabba Test is drawn due to rain, then what effect will it have on India’s race for the WTC final?
India is currently at third position in the WTC points table with 57.29 percent points. Above India are South Africa and Australia with scores of 63.33 and 60.71 percent respectively. Even if the third Test between India and Australia is a draw, India can still reach the WTC final.
India’s equation to reach WTC final
If India wins the next two matches after the Gabba Test draw and wins the series 3-1, then they will get a direct ticket to the final. After the Gabba Test is drawn, if India wins one of the next two matches and loses one, then the series will end 2-2. In this situation, India will have to depend on the result of Sri Lanka vs Australia series. India will have to pray that the neighboring team beats Australia by 1-0 or 2-0.
