Why Idi Amin did not like Indians
Idi Amin was a very cruel dictator. He was also allegedly ate human meat. Idi Amin accused Indians of stealing tax, discriminating against African traders and promoting corruption. Idi Amin then said that the economy of Uganda should be in the hands of indigenous people here. In the 1970s, the people of the Indian subcontinent in East Africa were called ‘Asian’. During the British colonial, these people of Indian origin arrived here as indirect laborers. He proved to be good businessmen. When Uganda became independent in 1962, they started knocking in the eyes of the indigenous people of Uganda.
