New Delhi. Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been in the news for the last few months due to poor health. This veteran was admitted to the hospital on Monday after his health deteriorated. Kambli has given the statement for the first time after being admitted to Akruti Hospital in Thane due to his deteriorating health. Medical examination revealed that there were clots in his brain, which has increased the concern about his health. According to reports, Kambli’s condition remains critical.
52-year-old Kambli issued his first statement from the hospital, thanking the doctors for their continuous support. The special thing is that hospital in-charge S Singh has assured Kambli of free treatment throughout his life. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kambli said, “I am alive because of the doctors here. I would just like to say that I will do whatever Sir (doctor) tells me. People will see how I will motivate them.”
Dr. Vivek told Hindustan Times that when Kambli was admitted to the hospital, his condition was not very good. The cricketer was meeting doctors, hospital staff and fans, from which it can be assumed that his condition is better than before. “When he was admitted on Saturday, he was suffering from high fever, dizziness and severe cramps. He was unable to sit and walk. He was also sleepy at the time of admission.”
He further said, “We did all the tests and found that he had urinary tract infection and electrolyte imbalance. Sodium and potassium levels were low, which was causing cramps. His BP was also low. “We started giving him antibiotics.”
Meeting with Sachin in discussion
Kambli’s health has been a topic of discussion ever since he participated in the unveiling ceremony of Ramakant Achrekar’s statue along with Sachin Tendulkar at Shivaji Park. Last year, a video of Kambli struggling to walk without support had gone viral and recently the public appearance of a frail Kambli holding Tendulkar’s hand left fans worried.
