A glitch at technology company Microsoft caused massive disruptions in airport and airline operations on Friday. Various airlines have issued advisories for passengers. IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa faced disruptions in online check-in and boarding processes on their networks, forcing them to operate ‘offline’.
IndiGo said on the social media platform ‘X’ that our systems are currently affected by a Microsoft glitch, which is also affecting other companies. During this time, booking, check-in, access to your boarding pass and some flights may be affected. The company said that we are all fully active and working to restore normalcy. Our digital team is also working closely with Microsoft Azure to resolve these disruptions quickly.
Budget airline Akasa said that some of our online services, including booking, check-in and booking management services, will be temporarily unavailable due to infrastructure problems with our service provider. We are currently following ‘offline’ check-in and boarding processes at airports.
