Let us take a look today at such services and products which have been discontinued this year and will not be seen again.
Human AI pin
There was a lot of noise at the launch of this device. It was said that it would liberate people from smartphones, but its sales were not as expected. Humane, which launched this AI pin, is now in talks with HP and other companies for acquisition. This voice and gesture operated device started having technical flaws and its high price could not attract the customers.
Google Chromecast
Google discontinued the Chromecast lineup in August. Then the company had assured that the existing devices would remain functional. The company announced Google TV Streamer instead. This new device provides better streaming.
Apple lightning port
Lightning ports were once Apple’s hallmark. Lightning ports, introduced as a better alternative to micro USB, were easier to use and had better durability. However, the European Union has made the USB-C port a standard, due to which Apple has had to abandon it. Now Apple is launching its new products with USB-C port only.
Microsoft Wordpad
After the arrival of Windows 11, WordPad has become a thing of the past. Microsoft has removed it from all editions of Windows 11 and has now replaced it with Microsoft 365’s Word, which requires a subscription.
