Earthquake News: Earthquake occurred 300 times in two days in Santorini, a popular tourist destination of Greece. Thousands of people left Santorini after the earthquake. This includes both residents and tourists. According to the BBC, more than 11,000 residents have left the island in recent times.
Most of the people are taking shelter in Athens and additional security flights have been announced, including 15 flights from Santorini to Athens. A 4.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Tuesday morning, which was slightly less than the 4.9 magnitude earthquake recorded over the weekend. It was the most powerful earthquake ever.

Over 550 earthquakes have occurred in Santorini in three days, the most powerful was 4.9 magnitude. The Earthquake Planning and Safety Organization (OASP) have estimated that acute seismic activity may continue for several more days or weeks. Greece’s national broadcaster ERT said that an earthquake of 6 or more intensity is also possible. Santorini is known as “Instagram Island”, which attracts around 3.4 million tourists annually. While about 20,000 permanent residents live here, many of whom have left the area due to security concerns.
School and government all institutions closed
