After the violence in the Congo, army was deployed in many areas.
The Indian embassy has issued security advisory for its citizens amidst the ongoing violence in the African country of Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo). The Indian Embassy said on Sunday that Indian citizens living in the city of Bukavu and South Kivu should move to safe places.
The Indian Embassy from the capital Kinshasa said-
In the current situation, we are also finding it difficult to help people. In such a situation, everyone is advised to keep their emergency plan ready at the individual level.
The fight between the Army and the rebel organization M23 has been going on in Dr Congo for a long time. Last Monday i.e. on 27 January, the rebels have captured Goma, the largest city. Although the government later confessed to entering the rebels in the city, the city denied the possession of the city.
Earlier, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal had said that about 1,000 Indian citizens are living in Goma. However, after the conflict began, most of them moved to safe places.
After the rebels entered the city, the people of Congo demonstrated against Rwanda.
People do not even have enough food left after the violence.
People in violence affected areas are forced to leave their homes and take refuge in the open.
Neighboring country Rwanda supports rebels
The fighters of the rebel organization M23 in DR Congo have the support of neighboring country Rwanda. At least 773 people have died in Goma and its surrounding areas in the struggle that started recently. On the other hand, thousands of people have moved to the border of Rwanda with their children and other belongings.
Also captured in 2012
The rebellious faction M23 is one of the over 100 rebel groups operating in the Congo. Goma was also temporarily captured by these rebels in 2012. Later, due to international pressure, later retreated. However, from the end of 2021, this faction started spreading his feet here once again.
The Congo government and the UN have accused Rwanda of supporting the rebels. However, Rwanda has dismissed these allegations.
Rwanda’s Foreign Ministry accused Congo of failing to interact with M23. The ministry said that-
This failure has prolonged the fight, which is a serious threat to Rwanda’s safety and regional integrity.
The army was given 48 hours to put arms
The rebels on Saturday asked the Congo Army to insert arms in 48 hours. After this, the rebels claimed possession on Monday on Monday. The fighters have asked the Congo soldiers to gather in the city stadium.
