He is afraid that he might suffer a loss in the election because of it. Yes, Donald Trump feels that the hush money scandal involving the porn star may harm him in the election. This is the reason why Donald Trump has knocked the door of the federal court. Yes, former US President Donald Trump has requested a federal court to intervene in the criminal case related to paying money to the ‘porn star’ to keep quiet, so that his conviction can be overturned and a way can be found to postpone the sentence scheduled next month indefinitely.

Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers urged the US District Court in Manhattan to take control of the New York City criminal case, arguing that the state-level prosecution violated Trump’s constitutional rights and the US Supreme Court’s recent decision on presidential immunity. A Manhattan court found Trump guilty in May of 34 charges of falsifying records in connection with the secret money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election in the US.

A federal judge last year rejected Trump’s attempt to move the case to federal court, clearing the way for a historic trial against Trump in state court. Donald Trump’s lawyers said in a petition filed on Thursday that moving the case to federal court after his conviction on May 30 would give him an ‘impartial forum, free from local hostility’ to oppose these charges. Trump’s lawyers said that if the case is moved to federal court, they will request to reverse the decision and dismiss the case.

Donald Trump’s lawyers Todd Blanch and Emil Bowe said, ‘The current proceedings will continue to cause direct and irreparable harm to Trump, the leading candidate in the 2024 presidential election, and to voters far beyond Manhattan.’
