Washington: Republican Party candidate Donald Trump has won the US Presidential elections. He will become the 47th President of America. But there is one question which is facing America after he became the President. In his election campaign, Trump used to talk about taking action against those who worked against him or harassed him. In other words, he used to directly threaten.
He suggested using the US military against the “enemy from within”. He threatened to sue lawyers, Democrats and others whom he falsely accused of committing election fraud, and pledged to carry out the “largest deportation campaign” of undocumented immigrants in American history. And now when he re-enters the White House, how he will work after getting the keys to power, it will be worth watching.

Expert’s warning
Experts have warned that if Trump’s words are to be believed, he is poised to lead a loyal, authoritarian administration aimed at “revenge” – and what he has in mind, Al Jazeera reports. This program will have dire consequences for the country. “This will be about revenge against the Democrats,” said Reena Shah, a political strategist and former senior aide to Republican legislators. This would be a scary iteration of the executive branch, even scarier than what we’ve seen. He wants to rewrite the rules. “That’s all they have told us.”
What promises did Trump make in the election campaign?
Let us tell you that Trump came to power in 2016 on the wave of public anger. His promise to “drain the swamp” of career politicians and other “elites” in Washington, DC appealed to a significant portion of the population disillusioned with government bureaucracy. His fiery speeches and attacks on perceived rivals – both inside and outside the party – continued throughout his tenure, during which he put forward a number of controversial policies.
From 2017 to 2021, the Trump administration took a number of tough measures – particularly on immigration and foreign policy – that often ran into gray legal territory or were struck down by courts. He fulfilled some campaign promises, including withdrawing from the Paris climate accord, imposing the so-called “Muslim ban” and raising import tariffs.
Yet, he failed to fulfill other promises. For example, he never succeeded in completing the southern border wall and getting Mexico to pay for it. A count of Trump’s 2016 campaign promises by PolitiFact, a fact-finding organization run by the Poynter Institute, shows that, out of 100 promises made, the former president broke more than half of them.
Now what next?
However, it is likely that Trump will not try to accomplish some of his controversial goals, said Jeffrey Kabaservice, vice president of political studies at the Niskanen Center, a center-right think tank based in Washington, DC. They could also be thwarted by “the courts, the deep state, the public reaction or perhaps, simply, the incompetence of the administration.”
He said some critics fear that “if Trump brings in his true followers, they will be radicalized, and they will be freed from the restrictions that were imposed on them in his first term.” But he said there could be an alternative scenario. He said, “It is equally possible to see this, Trump has already dealt with almost all the Republicans who had serious experience in governing, making bureaucracy work and getting results.”
