New Delhi. At present in the world of cricket, only one player is being discussed everywhere. Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy played an innings against Australia on Saturday 28th December which will be remembered for centuries. This 21 year old youth rescued Team India from trouble in the Boxing Day Test with his strong batting. Nitish Kumar Reddy has set a new record while batting at number 8. Such a miracle which no Indian had been able to do before.

On the third day of the Boxing Day Test, India scored 358 for 9 wickets thanks to Reddy’s unbeaten 105 runs. Australia had scored 474 runs in the first innings and now Team India is 116 runs behind it. The third day’s play ended early due to rain. After losing 6 wickets for 191 runs, India was in danger of follow-on. Nitish took India out of this danger by making a partnership of 127 runs with Washington Sundar.

Nitish Reddy made a record
Nitish Kumar Reddy is the first Indian to score a century while batting at number 8 in Tests. He completed the first century of his international career by hitting a four over long-on off Scott Boland in the last session of the third day of the fourth Test. More than 83,000 spectators present at the Melbourne Cricket Ground stood up and welcomed Reddy’s achievement.

Reddy holds the record for most Test runs by a No. 8 batsman in Australia. In 2008, Anil Kumble played an inning of 87 runs in Adelaide. Nitish Kumar Reddy also became the third youngest Indian batsman to score a Test century in Australia. His name has been included in the list of Sachin Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant.
