central government has closed 12 fake universities from 2014 govt issues show cause notices to unauthorised institutes

The government is in action against the ongoing fake university in the country. Since 2014, 21 universities have been declared fake. Of these, 12 have also been closed. In response to a question about fake universities in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Education Suketanta Majumdar informed the Central Government that the University Grants Commission (UGC) made a list and 12 out of 21 fake institutions were closed after 2014. Is. When the minister was asked whether UGC has declared 21 universities fake and what action the government has taken on it, he said that it is the job of the state governments to maintain law and order.

The minister said that the Central Government has appealed to the Chief Secretaries of all states and union territories to take legal action to close these 21 fake institutions and take action against those who cheat students. Along with this, the central government has issued a show-cose notice/ warning against these fake universities and against many self-stild non-recognized institutions.

Also, the government has also requested that if any other fake universities are working under their jurisdiction, then the Center and the UGC should be informed. Public notices have also been issued through social media and UGC website for public awareness.
