New Delhi. Before the Indian cricket team can play against Australia in the fourth match of Border Gavaskar Trophy, it has to decide its playing eleven. After the end of the third match, veteran spinner R Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket. Now he will not be a part of the playing eleven in the remaining matches of the series, hence Ravindra Jadeja will be the captain’s first choice as the main spinner.

After the Gabba Test draw against Australia, Indian star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said goodbye to international cricket. He was not a part of the playing eleven of this match, so captain Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir are not going to face much trouble. In the first three matches, the Indian team came with three different spinners. In the last match, Ravindra Jadeja showed strength in batting and also performed well with the ball. It does not seem that captain Rohit Sharma will make any changes for the Boxing Day Test.

What will be the impact of Ashwin’s retirement?
The pair of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin did wonders for the Indian team in Tests for a long time. Now captain Rohit Sharma will not have Ashwin, so apart from Jadeja, Washington Sundar will be the second spinner’s option. Both are all-rounders and have the ability to contribute well with the bat and the ball. The playing eleven will be decided considering the condition of the pitch before the match.

India’s probable eleven
Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Rohit Sharma (captain), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja/Washington Sundar, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
