Jaishankar responded to illegal Indian migrants in Rajya Sabha

The House will understand that our focus should be taken strict action on illegal immigration industry while taking steps to make the visa of legitimate passengers easier. He said that on the basis of information of those deployed from the US, law enforcement agencies will take necessary, preventive and exemplary action against agencies and such agencies.

Jaishankar said that the process of deporting Indians from America is not new. It is the responsibility of all countries that if their citizens are living illegally abroad, then take them back. ‘This policy is not only applicable to one country. The process of exile is not new, it has been for many years. He said that 734 in 2009, 799 in 2010, 597 in 2011, 530 Indians in 2012 were deported. He shared figures up to 2024 in this regard.

In fact, an American military aircraft reached Amritsar in Punjab on Wednesday with the first batch of 104 illegal Indian immigrants. The maximum number of 33-33 people are from Haryana and Gujarat. A total of 30 exiled people were residents of Punjab. The C-17 aircraft of the US Army landed at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport amid tight security. These include three people from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra and two from Chandigarh. Among the exiled people include 25 women and 12 minors, of which the youngest passenger is just four years old. 48 people are under 25 years of age.
