Anurag Kashyap recalls Nawazuddin Siddiqui told him to give work said do not have money to eat


Nawazuddin Siddiqui Struggle: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a big star today. However, he has worked very hard to earn name in the industry. He did many small roles in films in his initial days. He appeared in films like Sarfarosh, Shool, Jungle.

Anurag Kashyap talked about his meeting with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Rkz Theater & Films Group posted an interview, where Anurag talked about his meeting with Nawazuddin.

This is how I met Nawazuddin

Anurag told, ‘There was a great actor named Rajpal Yadav who came to Mumbai. But he was leaving the city tired and depressed. There was an actor named Ashraf Ulhaq in Black Friday, who has now passed away. He asked me can you talk to Rajpal Yadav and give him hope. So we met him at the railway station and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was holding his suitcase. That’s how I met him.

Nawazuddin played the role of a waiter

Anurag Kashyap recalled how he told Rajpal Yadav that he was casting for the film Shool and there was a role for him. Rajpal Yadav had said yes to that one scene role. He was in the role of a porter.

Anurag said- His career started from there. Nawaz was also there so he asked me if I could also get a role? I told him that there is no role left now but I will hire you somewhere else. So Nawaz said that I don’t even have money for food. I will do anything. So again in Shool, Nawaz was given the role of a waiter in a scene with Manoj and Raveena. Nawaz was very thin at that time. Everything started from there.
