New Delhi. Whenever you go from one state to another for work, the biggest problem is accommodation and food. The poor section has to bear the brunt of rising property prices and high rent the most. The Gujarat government has come forward to help the poor. The government has decided to provide temporary accommodation in four cities of the state at a rate of just five rupees per day. That means, for staying for a month, you will have to pay a nominal amount of just Rs 150. A condition has also been kept by the government regarding this scheme.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday clarified that this scheme is being brought only for construction workers. Temporary housing will be provided to about 15,000 construction workers at a nominal rate of Rs 5 per day. In an official press release, it was told that under the ‘Shramik Basera’ scheme, the Chief Minister today performed the Bhoomi Pujan of 17 residential structures for the workers to live in the cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara and Rajkot.

CM Bhupendra Patel was present to lay the foundation stone of the ‘Shramik Basera’ scheme in Jagatpur area of Ahmedabad. The release said that he launched it virtually in other cities. In his address at the event, the Chief Minister said that once the facilities are ready, the scheme will benefit around 15,000 construction workers. Housing will be provided to the construction workers at a daily rent of ₹5 per person. More such housing centres will be built in Gujarat in the next three years for the benefit of around 3 lakh construction workers. The project will cost Rs 1,500 crore.
