In the ODI series being played against England, the third consecutive half -century century made a record which would be very difficult to break. On Wednesday 12 February, Gill set the record for the fastest 2500 runs in ODIs. He achieved this big achievement to leave Hashim Amla of South Africa behind.

Opener Shubman Gill completed 2500 runs of his career in Ahmedabad ODI against England. To make this figure innings, he needed 25 runs before the third ODI. Gill completed his fifty with fours sixes and made a record that no one had touched before. Playing against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Gill broke the record of former South African batsman Hashim Amla. Amla had completed 2500 runs in 53 innings. Gill achieved this position in the 50th innings.

Shubman Gill needed 25 runs against England on Wednesday to complete 2500 runs. He created history by hitting a four off the fifth ball of the 10th over of the innings. With the England bowler Gas Atkinson’s ball crossing the boundary, the fastest 2500 ODI was named Afne.
