Google Banned More than 23 Lakh Dangerous Apps From Play Store, BSNL, Reliance Jio


American technology company Google has banned more than 23 million dangerous apps from Google Play Store last year. Google has said that along with this, more than 1,58,000 developers have also been banned. Dangerous apps were being published with the accounts of these developers.

Google has stated in a blog post that the company has started using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify the danger. Human reviewers from AI have helped capture malware and spyware in 92 percent of cases of violations. This has increased the speed of review and increased accuracy. Google Told that more than 91 percent of apps installed on Play Store use the new security features of Android 13.

Last year, Google made some updates in its free anti -virus app Play Protect. This may increase accuracy in identifying the company’s dangerous apps. Google claims that more than 200 billion apps per day are scanned from Play Protect. The company has said that last year about one crore devices were saved from more than 3.6 crore dangerous installation efforts.

In a warning issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently, users were advised to update Google’s Chrome browser and chromeos devices. The CERT-in advisory stated that the old version of Google Chrome has some shortcomings, which has the risk of users’ data and system. This includes the Chromeos verses before the Chromeos verses before the Windows and Mac for Windows and Mac 132.0.6834.110/111, 132.0.6834.110 and 16093.68.0 for Linux. To solve this, Google has released the Stable Channel update for Google Chrome on desktop platforms. Google has said that this update will soon be available to all users. Chromebook users have also been advised to update the devices for a new version of Chromeos. This advisory states that all the users of Chrome should update soon to avoid the risk related to these deficiencies.
