Washington: China has erupted due to the announcement of the Trump administration to impose 10 percent tariffs on Chinese goods. China has now retaliated on America. China’s Finance Ministry will impose a tax of 15 percent on coal and LNG imported from the US. Apart from this, 10 percent tariffs have been imposed on crude oil, agricultural machinery, big machines and pickup trucks. This tax will be effective from February 10. China released a list of controls on newly exported goods, including things related to Tungsten, which are commonly used in industrial and defense related goods. Apart from this, the tailurium content used to make solar cells is also included.

China not only stopped tariffs, but it has put two American companies in the list of its incredible institutions. This includes PVH Group, owned by biotech company Illumina and Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. China says that they have violated general market trade principles. Apart from tariffs, China has also announced to initiate an anti-manopolit probe against American technology company Google.

Trump took strict steps
China’s retaliation has come before a possible telephonic conversation between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump said on Monday that the conversation with Xi would be ‘perhaps in the next 24 hours’. Trump also said that if there was no compromise with China, then ‘the tariffs will be very much, too much’. Soon after winning the election, Trump announced that he would impose 25 % tariffs on Canada and Mexico as he failed to stop the flow of Fantanil drugs in the US from his border. He also announced that 10 percent of tariffs will be imposed on China as it supplies Fantanil coming to the US from Canada and Mexico. Last week, Trump signed executive orders to implement the tariff.

Relief to Canada-Maxico
However, the Trump administration announced on Monday that Canada and Mexico have been given 30 days relief from tariffs, as Trump had interacted with Mexican and Canadian leaders. There was no such relief for China, which has already been entangled in trade struggle with the US for years. The Biden administration had put heavy tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs), metals.
