New Delhi. Questions have been raised over Australia’s top form batsman Travis Head, who performed brilliantly against the Indian team, playing in the Boxing Day Test. After this batsman was injured during the third test match and did not practice, the discussion about his playing has intensified. Australia’s star batsman has scored two consecutive centuries against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Travis Head did not attend the team’s practice session before the Boxing Day Test to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Monday. The 30-year-old batsman was seen limping during his last match against India at the Gabba. Head did not take the field on the fifth day of the Gaba Test. However, after the match he said that he was just in “pain” but would be ready to play on December 26.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Travis Head will try to prove his fitness on Tuesday. The same report from the Sydney Morning Herald downplayed Head’s absence from practice on Monday, citing a team spokesperson as saying the practice session was “optional.”
Australia’s star batsman Travis Head is in the best form of his life in the ongoing five-Test series. He has scored 409 runs at an average of 81.2. His first century of the ongoing series came during the pink-ball Test where he scored 140 runs. Thanks to this inning, Australia registered a spectacular victory by 10 wickets in Adelaide. After this he scored another century in Gabba where he played an innings of 152 runs. Earlier, he had also scored 89 runs in the second innings of Perth Test which Australia lost by 295 runs.
