Reliance Jio Loses 1.65 Crore Subscribers in 4 Months, BSNL Giving Tough Competition

Reliance Jio, one of the big telecom companies, has lost about 1.65 crore subscribers in the last four months. It is facing tough competition from the government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The number of subscribers of BSNL has increased rapidly since the private telecom companies increased the tariffs a few months ago.

a media Report Citing data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), it has been said that Jio has lost about 37.6 lakh mobile subscribers in October. The second largest telecom company Bharti Airtel got about five lakh new customers in October. Due to this, the number of customers of this company had decreased by about 14.3 lakh in the last month. The number of Vodafone Idea subscribers decreased by 19.3 lakh in October. In the last month, this company had lost about 15.5 lakh subscribers.

Reliance Jio has gained the highest number of new subscribers by adding about 38.4 lakh VLR subscribers in October. VLR reveals the number of active users. BSNL, which has been adding new subscribers in the last few months, will soon launch eSIM. The company has said that its 4G network will be available across the country by June next year. After this the company plans to launch 5G network. However, 5G networks of big private telecom companies like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio are present in large parts of the country. In this respect BSNL is far behind these companies.

BSNL has said that it will start eSIM service by March next year. After this, 4G network will be made available across the country by June. The company does not plan to increase tariffs any time soon. Recently, Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that the financial recovery of the company is going on. BSNL plans to launch 5G service in the middle of next year. Recently, a panel of Parliament had advised BSNL to take help from foreign companies till the indigenous technology improves. There are only four countries in the world that have their own technology stack to launch mobile networks. The central government wants to include India in the list of these countries. The parliamentary panel had advised BSNL to expand the scope of technology regarding 4G network.
