New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh captain Sameer Rizvi created a stir in domestic cricket. This 21 year old batsman made the record of scoring the fastest double century in the Men’s Under 23 State A Trophy. Sameer played a historic inning against Tripura in Vadodara. He completed a double century in 97 balls which included 20 sixes and 13 fours. On the basis of Sameer’s historic innings, Uttar Pradesh made a huge score of 405 runs against Tripura.
Sameer Rizvi was recently bought by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 95 lakh. Sameer was a part of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL last season. While playing for CSK, Sameer did not do anything special in the IPL. He scored only 51 runs in 5 matches. Dhoni’s CSK had included him for a huge amount of Rs 8.4 crore but he could not perform well with the bat, after which CAK did not retain him in IPL 2025 retention.

Uttar Pradesh defeated Tripura by 152 runs in this match. In front of the huge target of 406 runs set by Uttar Pradesh, Tripura team collapsed for 253 runs. Anand Bhowmik was the only batsman who scored a half-century. Anand scored 68 runs. With this, Sameer became the fastest batsman to score a double century in domestic cricket.
Sameer came into limelight for the first time at the age of 16
Sameer Rizvi came into limelight for the first time in 2019-20. When this player was handed the debut cap in the first class by Team India’s former left arm spinner Sunil Joshi, Rizvi was 16 years old at that time. Right-handed batsman Sameer was born on 6 December 2003 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He has scored 152 runs in 9 first-class matches. Sameer has scored 205 runs in 11 List A matches while Rizvi has scored 480 runs in 28 T20 matches.
