KL Rahul wants to play all three formats of cricket for India, his aim is to return to the national T20 team by performing well in the IPL. If Rohit Sharma is unable to play in the first match of the five-Test series against Australia, then Rahul may get a chance to open the innings.

Perth. KL Rahul, who has been in poor form for some time, wants to play all three formats of cricket for India. His aim is to make a comeback in the national T20 team by performing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL). If Indian captain Rohit Sharma is unable to play in the first match of the five-Test series against Australia, then Rahul may get a chance to open the innings. Rahul’s poor form remains a matter of concern for the Indian team but the 32-year-old batsman is not worried about it.

Rahul told Star Sports, “My aim is definitely to make a comeback in the T20 team. I want to play in all three formats and there has been no change in this over the years. I want to play all three formats for India as I have been doing for many years.” He said, ”I have been out of the T20 team for some time now and I know what level I am at right now as a player. But what do I need to do to make a comeback? For this, I am waiting for the new season of IPL.” Rahul has scored only 514 runs in 21 innings of 12 Test matches since 2022 and his average was 25.7. However, this batsman said that he gives priority to the team rather than individual records.

He said, “As players, we all want to play freely. I thoroughly enjoy the way I bat. But for me the team has always been the first priority. It doesn’t matter what I am doing and what my natural game is. Rahul said, “Our game is all about the team. If I had played tennis the situation would have been different and then I could say that this is my natural game. But in a team game it is completely different. In this, you have to play a different role and responsibility to contribute to the team in each match.
