Gujarat Titans have appointed former Indian wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel as batting and assistant coach for the upcoming season of IPL. The franchise announced this on Wednesday. Parthiv will play a dual role in the support staff led by head coach Ashish Nehra.

This former Indian wicketkeeper batsman will add the experience of his illustrious career of 17 years to the team. Titans is preparing for the upcoming season of IPL. Parthiv Patel will play this role for the first time in IPL
Parthiv Patel retired from cricket in 2020. This will be the first time when he will play the role of coach in IPL. He was working as a talent scout for Mumbai Indians for the last three seasons. He was also the batting coach of MI Emirates in the first season of ILT20.

Thirty-nine year old Parthiv Patel has scored 934 runs in 25 Test matches, which includes 6 half-centuries. During this period, he has taken 62 catches behind the wicket while making 10 stumpings. In 38 One Day International matches, Parthiv has scored 736 runs with the help of 4 half centuries. He has taken 39 dismissals behind the wicket which include 30 catches and 9 stumpings. Parthiv has scored 36 runs in 2 T20 International matches.
