Israel has taken responsibility for the serial blasts that took place in the pager (communication device) of Hezbollah members in Lebanon on September 17, 54 days later. Prime Minister Netanyahu admitted on Sunday that he had approved the attack regarding Israel’s security.
Netanyahu spokesperson Omar Dostri told news agency AFP – In the cabinet meeting held on Sunday, PM Netanyahu confirmed that he had ordered the pager attack in Lebanon. However, Omar did not give detailed information about this attack.
According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu said that the defense agency and senior officials were against the pager attack and the operation to kill Nasrallah, the then chief of Hezbollah. Despite opposition, I gave direct orders for the attack.
