New Delhi. The relationship between Bollywood and cricket is not hidden from anyone. Movies have been made on many cricketers while some cricketers also married film actors. This is happening for the first time that a 25 year old boy from a well-known Bollywood family is creating havoc with his bat on the cricket field. Name is Agni Chopra. He is continuously scoring runs in the Ranji season. In the third round of Plate Division of Ranji Trophy, he played an innings of 218 runs in the match against Manipur. Agri faced 269 balls and hit 29 fours and one six. This was his eighth first class century and second double century. He scored a double century for the second consecutive match. In the second round, he scored unbeaten 238 runs against Arunachal Pradesh.
Agni Chopra, son of famous filmmaker Vidu Vinod Chopra, started his first class career 10 months ago in January 2024 and has played nine matches since then. Of these, he has scored 1585 runs so far. Eight centuries and four half-centuries have been to his name. In the current Ranji season, he has scored two centuries and has crossed 200 both times. His run scoring average is above 93 and his strike rate is also 90. Agni, who is in amazing form, has once again attracted everyone’s attention.
There is a big fire in the bat of fire
The beginning of the current Ranji season was not special for Agni. Scored 51 and 29 runs in the first match against Sikkim. Then he could not score a century. But in the second round match against Arunachal, he created a stir by playing innings of 110 and 238 not out. Now again Agdoni scored a double century against Manipur. Left-handed batsman Agni comes at number three for Mizoram.
Left Mumbai again broke the bowlers
Before joining Mizoram, Agni Chopra had played in Mumbai Under-19 and Under-23 teams. Due to not getting further opportunities from Mumbai, he shifted to Mizoram on the request of his coach Khushpreet Singh. Earlier, he was the highest run-scorer in the plate group of Ranji Trophy 2024. Then he scored 939 runs in 12 innings at an average of 78.25. Agni then scored centuries in his first four first class matches and became the first batsman to do so. He scored 105, 101, 115, 10, 164, 15, 166 and 92 in these matches. Even in the second season, Agni’s bat is spitting fire and it seems as if he wants to send the echo of his bat’s blast to the ears of Mumbai selectors.
