Why did Shahrukh Khan do Devdas?
Explaining the reason behind doing Devdas, Shahrukh Khan said, “For some reason, I always felt that if I make big films, my mom and dad can watch them from heaven. It’s a childish thought, but I still think my mother is a star. And she must have liked Devdas.

Many had advised Shahrukh Khan not to do Devdas.
Shah Rukh Khan further said, “I just felt that if I made Devdas, she would really like it and appreciate it, I didn’t think I could play this character because some of the great actors of our country like Dilip Kumar, KL Sehgal and Uttam Kumar had played it well earlier. I don’t think mine is that great or good. Despite many senior actors asking me not to do it, I just wanted to do it.” He also praised Bhansali.
