Prime Minister Modi on Friday participated in the East Asia Summit in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Addressing the meeting here, PM Modi said, “India has always supported unity among ASEAN countries. ASEAN is at the center of India’s Indo-Pacific vision and Quad cooperation.”

PM Modi said, “The worst impact of the various wars going on around the world is falling on the countries of the Global South. In such a situation, it is very important to restore peace in the world. I come from the land of Buddha. We always said this. That this is not an age of war.”

Had bilateral talks with Japan and New Zealand PM Modi held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba this evening in Vientiane. After the meeting, PM Modi posted on Instagram that he was happy to meet Japanese PM Ishiba. There were discussions between the two countries on increasing cooperation in semiconductor infrastructure, connectivity, defense and other areas.

After this, PM Modi held bilateral talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. Modi also invited Christopher Luxon to visit India. During the meeting, issues like trade, investment, defence, dairy, space and tourism were discussed between the two.

Modi government’s ‘Act East Policy’ completes 10 years This year, 10 years of ‘Act East Policy’ of Modi government has been completed.
