Secretary of Gangotri Temple Committee, Suresh Semwal said that the doors of the temple will be closed at 12.14 pm on November 2 on Annakoot festival. At the same time, the priest of Yamunotri temple, Rawal Ashish Uniyal said that the doors of the temple will be closed on November 3 on Bhai Dooj. The time of closing the doors will be decided as per tradition on the day of Dussehra on 12th October.

After the closure of the doors of Gangotri temple, the idol of Mother Ganga will be kept in a palanquin and taken to Mukhba village and the idol of Goddess Yamuna will be taken to Kharsali village. He will be worshiped here in winter.
