A decline is being seen in the stock market today i.e. on 16th October. Sensex is trading at the level of 81,600 with a fall of more than 200 points. Nifty is also down by more than 50 points, it is trading at 25,000.
Today, a huge decline is being seen in IT and FMCG shares. There is a rise in metal and energy shares. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 are showing a rise and 12 are seeing a decline.
Mixed business in Asian market
- There is a boom in the Asian market today. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is trading up 0.43% and China’s Shanghai Composite index is up 0.40%.
- On October 15, the US Dow Jones fell 0.75% to 42,740 and the Nasdaq fell 1.01% to 18,315. The S&P 500 also slipped 0.76 to 5,815.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,748 crore on October 15. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ crore.
