Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajeev Kumar’s helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The incident is being reported around 1.40 pm on Wednesday. According to the information, the helicopter was landed here due to bad weather.

Rajiv Kumar had announced election dates in two states Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Tuesday. Elections will be held in one phase in Maharashtra and two phases in Jharkhand. The results will come on 23rd November.

A fire broke out in a 14-storey building in Andheri, Mumbai on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out on the 10th floor of the building at around 8 am. On receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after 1 hour of effort. Three people were injured by the fire and were taken to hospital. Doctors declared him dead in the hospital. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Police said that information will be given only after investigation.

Prohibitory orders have been imposed on movement of people at night within a radius of two kilometers from the international border with Pakistan in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir. Exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), Samba District Magistrate Rajesh Sharma has ordered that no person or group will move around in the area between 10 pm to 5 am.

It has been said in the order that in case of extreme necessity, people will have to show valid identity card in front of BSF or police. Legal action will be taken in case of violation. The order is effective immediately and will remain in force for the next 60 days, unless earlier withdrawn or cancelled.

So far 41 lakh pilgrims have visited Chardham Yatra

This season, the number of pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand on Chardham Yatra crossed the figure of 41 lakh on October 15. The Chardham Yatra Management and Control Organization said that so far this year, a total of 41,13081 pilgrims have visited the Chardham temples, which include Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Char Dham Yatra has reached its final stage with the announcement of closure of Kedarnath and Yamunotri on 3 November, Gangotri on 2 November and Badrinath on 17 November.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, was discharged on Tuesday evening. On Monday, Thackeray’s son and former Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray had said that his father was visiting Sir HN Reliance Hospital for a routine checkup and he was fine.
