Rohit brigade will fight with its own players in Australia, BCCI’s plan ready

New Delhi. The Indian team will go to Australia at least two weeks before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a 5-Test series starting from November 22. Team India will play an ‘intra squad’ practice match with the players of India’s ‘A’ team in Australia. The last match of the three-match Test series against New Zealand will end on November 5 (if it lasts for full five days) in Mumbai. The Indian Test team will leave for Australia from Mumbai a few days after the New Zealand series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can organize a four-day match between India and India A in Australia like the previous tour of South Africa. With this practice match, the team led by Rohit Sharma will get a chance to test itself in the conditions of Australia. India A team is likely to leave for Australia tour on October 25. The team full of young players is likely to play two unofficial test matches on this tour.

Which player holds the record of most runs in a calendar year, average of 99 and 9 centuries…

The Indian team started playing intra-squad practice matches during the COVID-19 era before the final of the 2021 World Test Championship. After this, the A team tours before the main team tour were stopped for some time. During the 2023-24 series in South Africa, once again Team India and India A teams were present there at the same time. India A played a practice match with the main Indian team between the two test matches (A series of A teams) on this tour. This practice match was played before the opening test of the Indian team’s tour.

A BCCI source said, ‘At present, home countries generally do not want to provide their best domestic talent for practice. If some of the emerging players of India are fielded against the stars, it will always help in better match practice. These are players who are knocking on the doors of the national team and are eager to perform better. Before the day-night match to be held in Adelaide from 6 to 10 December, the Indian team will play day-night practice matches with pink ball against Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval, Canberra on 30 November and 1 December.
