New Delhi. Changes between two series are common in the Indian cricket team, but this time the scale on which it is going to happen has never happened before. There is a possibility that almost the entire picture of the Indian team will change in a week. About 10 faces can change in the current Team India and next week’s Team India. It is also possible that only four-five players included in the Test team may be selected in the T20 team.
Currently a test series is being played for India and Bangladesh. The second test of the series will be played in Kanpur from 27th September. After this, T20 series will be played between the two countries from 6th October. The team is yet to be announced for the T20 series. BCCI can announce the T20 team during the Kanpur Test.
IPL 2025: Veteran will be retired from KKR, know who can be retained, Andre Russell and Mitchell Starc…
After Bangladesh, India has to play a 3-match test series against New Zealand. After this, Team India will tour Australia, where it will play a 5-match Test series for the first time since 1991-92. That means the next few months are full of test matches. In such a situation, the Indian Cricket Board can give rest to the players playing Test matches in the T20 series.
Pant-Rahul-Bumrah will get rest
In the current Test series against Bangladesh, there are 13 players who are available for the T20 series. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have retired from the shorter formats. It should not be a surprise if 7-8 of the remaining 13 players are given rest. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah are sure to get rest. Mohammad Siraj can also be given rest. Sarfaraz Khan is not considered very fit for the shorter formats and it is certain that he will not be selected.
Akshar-Kuldeep’s selection is certain
Now 7 players are left – Shubhman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Yash Dayal and Dhruv Jurel. It is not necessary that the Indian Board selects all of them in the T20 team. It is possible that due to the long Test series to be held from New Zealand-Australia, Gill and Jaiswal may also be given rest. However, the Irani Cup schedule will definitely be seen before selecting Gill and Jaiswal. Irani Cup will be played from 1st to 5th October. The first T20 match is to be played on 6th October. Due to this, the players involved in the Irani Cup may hardly be able to play in the first T20 match. Due to this schedule, Shubman and Yashasvi seem to have a place in the T20 team against Bangladesh. It is also possible that both of them play only one or two out of three matches of the T20 series.
10 players including Pandya will return to T20 team
Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are certain to return to the T20 team for the series against Bangladesh. Rinku Singh, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dubey, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi and Khalil Ahmed are also sure to return to the team. All of them were part of the Indian T20 team that went on the Sri Lanka tour a month ago. There is none of these players in the teams selected for the Irani Cup.
