Who is that batsman… who scored the fastest 1000 runs in test, 22 year old Indian youth also included in top 10

New Delhi. Sri Lankan bowling all-rounder Kamindu Mendis is in unmatched form. Mendis, who touched the 1000-run mark in Tests by hitting a six against New Zealand, left many players behind during this period. Mendis has reached this milestone in 13 innings. In world cricket, there are two players before Mendis who have achieved this feat by playing one innings less than him. Two Indian cricketers are included in the top 10 list of fastest batsmen to reach the 1000 mark in Test cricket, one of whom is only 22 years old. Mendis equaled the record of the legendary Don Bradman who had reached this milestone in the 13th innings.

Former Indian batsman Vinod Kambli had scored 1000 test runs in 14 innings. Kamindu Mendis remained behind West Indies’ Everton Weekes and England’s Herbert Stucliffe, who achieved this feat in 12 innings. Mendis has also left Pakistan’s Fawad Alam behind. Mendis, who made a world record by scoring his eighth consecutive century since his debut, has also defeated Pakistan’s Sawai Shakeel.
