New Delhi. Former Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting The former Australian captain will be seen taking charge of the new team Punjab Kings in the new season of the Indian Premier League. His contract with Delhi Capitals had ended. But he was not selected as the coach again, Ponting has explained why he did not choose the same team again.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Ponting said, “While at Delhi Capitals, I felt we created a good atmosphere there. The franchise told me that my availability was becoming an issue. They wanted a full-time head coach. I was not up to it. However, I was also disappointed.”
