The Sensex reached a record high of 83,116 today. The Nifty also made a high of 25,433. However, later both these indices came down slightly and the Sensex rose 1,439 points (1.77%) to close at 82,962 and the Nifty rose 470 (1.89%) points to close at 25,388.
In today’s trade, metal, IT, auto and bank shares rose the most. Nifty’s metal index closed up 2.91%. Auto index rose 2.14%. IT rose 1.60% and bank rose 1.49%. Oil and gas index also closed up 1.61%.
Investors’ wealth increased by about Rs 6.40 lakh crore
Due to this boom in the stock market, the wealth of investors has increased by about 6.40 lakh crore rupees. The market cap of BSE was Rs 4,60,76,150 crore on Wednesday, which increased to Rs 4,60,76,150 crore today i.e. on 12 September.
Japan’s Nikkei rose 3.41%, China’s market fell
- Reliance, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Infosys were the top gainers in the market. However, Nestle India was the only stock to fall, falling 0.09%.
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei rose 3.41% and Korea’s Kospi rose 2.34%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.77% and China’s Shanghai Composite fell 0.17%.
- On September 11, the US market Dow Jones closed at 40,861, up 0.31%. Nasdaq closed at 5,554, up 2.17%, and S&P500 closed at 5,554, up 1.07%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,755.00 crore on September 11. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth ₹230.90 crore.
There was a decline in the market yesterday
Earlier, yesterday, i.e. on 11th September, there was a decline in the stock market. Sensex closed at 81,523 with a decline of 398 points. Nifty also fell by 122 points and closed at 24,918.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 20 fell and 10 rose. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 34 fell and 16 rose. There was selling in all sectoral stocks except Nifty FMCG.
