He used to lift gas cylinders, his daily wage was Rs 350, he cracked JEE exam, now he is studying from here

JEE Success Story: It is said that if compulsion is turned into strength, then it becomes possible to change everything. Then even financial compulsion for studies cannot stop one from moving forward. One such story is of a boy from UP, who worked as a daily wage laborer by carrying gas cylinders in class 11 to fulfill his dream of studying from IIT. He also continued his studies online and worked hard to fulfill his dream of studying from IIT. The boy we are talking about is named Gagan.

I had secured 5286 rank in JEE
Gagan hails from Atrauli in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He shared on YouTube how he cracked IIT. In a conversation with Alakh Pandey, CEO and Founder of Physics Wala, he said that his ultimate goal was to get admission in IIT. He took a year off to focus on his education to crack one of the toughest exams in India. Due to his dedication and hard work, he scored an impressive All India Rank of 5286 in JEE Advanced 2024

Daily wages were 350 rupees per day
Gagan’s family consists of six people and his father works as a warehouse keeper and labourer. He also shared that when he was in class 11th, he also used to work as a daily wage labourer by lifting gas cylinders. Gagan and his brother used to lift 250 cylinders every day and earn Rs 350 daily. Despite these hardships, Gagan remained steadfast. He did a lot of overtime at work and used his smartphone to continue his online education after work. With hard work and dedication, he managed to get admission in Electrical and Communication Engineering at IIT BHU.

The post was shared on YouTube a few days ago. It has been viewed more than a lakh times since it was shared. The post has also received several likes and comments. One person wrote on the video, “Heartwarming story.” Another YouTuber said, “Gagan was really touched. Sir, when you said ‘you can overcome all obstacles’, it touched my heart.” A third user wrote, “This student has inspired me.”
