Begusarai. Although Bihar is a dry state, the drug business is flourishing in every district of Bihar. Despite the vigilance of the police, not only alcohol but other intoxicants are being sold openly in Begusarai. A sample of this was seen in Begusarai Sadar Hospital when two drunkards showed the mirror to the government and administration in the presence of people. The drunkard who was caught said openly that – Yes, I am an alcoholic, I drink alcohol when I get it… Alcohol is available everywhere in Begusarai, if I tell the place, the liquor mafia will give me this honk (in the local language of Bihar beating is called honk dene), give me whatever punishment you want.
The whole matter is of Ratanpur police station area where during the vehicle checking campaign of Begusarai police, two drunkards were going on a bike, then the police stopped them on the basis of suspicion. After this, both were drunk, the police took them into custody and sent them to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for medical test.
The two youths caught were identified as Mohammad Hayas and MD Akram, residents of Dumri village of Singal police station area. Seeing the behavior of the two drunkards caught, it became a topic of discussion in the entire Sadar Hospital and people were seen raising questions on the liquor ban.
Complete prohibition of liquor is in force in Bihar from the year 2025. Under the Bihar Liquor Prohibition Products Act, there was no provision for bail for those who make, sell and consume liquor. The maximum punishment given under the Bihar Liquor Prohibition Products Act is life imprisonment.

In which the sections 37 A, B and C which were excise sections at the time of implementation of the prohibition law became Section 37. In which, if caught drinking alcohol for the first time, there is a fine of two to five thousand rupees and imprisonment of thirty days.
