In the year 2020, teacher Samuel Patty was murdered in Paris, France by making a false post.
The French court has convicted 8 accused in the murder of a teacher on the false allegation of showing a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed. While giving the verdict on Friday, a special court of Paris has sentenced the accused to 3 to 16 years of imprisonment. The accused include 7 men and one woman.
According to the BBC report, in 2020, a teacher named Samuel Paty was murdered outside his school in Conference Sainte Honorine, Paris. The man who committed the murder was 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov. Anzorov was killed by police just hours after the attack.
Now the court has sentenced his two friends Naeem Boudoud (22) and Azim Apsirkhanov (23) to 16-16 years for helping Anzorov. Naeem helped Anjarov get to school and Azim helped him buy weapons. Apart from these, 6 other accused have been convicted in different cases.

6 accused sentenced for spreading hatred
The court has sentenced Abdelhakim Sefrioui, associated with a radical Islamic group, to 15 years in prison for spreading hatred against Patty. Apart from this, Brahim Chanina, father of a student studying in Patty’s school, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for making false posts against Patty. The remaining 4 accused have been convicted on charges of inciting violence on the internet.
According to BBC report, the student had lied to her father about showing cartoons. After this her father started a campaign against Patty on the internet.
More than 450 people were present in the court premises during the hearing. According to French media, Sefrioui’s lawyer has said that he is not satisfied with the court’s decision and will appeal the case to a higher court.

Samuel Patty taught history and civics to the children. In the class on Freedom of Expression, he showed some cartoons related to Prophet Mohammed. Before showing this cartoon, he had asked the Muslim students present in the class to go out. So that their sentiments are not hurt.
A 14 year old teenager told her father about this. He said- The history teacher showed us some cartoons of Prophet Muhammad published in Charlie Hebdo newspaper. In one of these the Prophet had no clothes on his body.
However, according to the BBC report, the 14-year-old teenager was not present in the class on the day these cartoons were shown. The court has now found the girl guilty of making false allegations. Similarly, other teenagers were found guilty of involvement in the criminal conspiracy.

Campaign started on social media against teacher
The news of some cartoons related to Prophet Mohammed being shown in the classroom quickly went viral on social media. Campaign started against Samuel. This caught the eye of 18 year old accused Abdullakh Anzorov. He made a plan to kill Samuel.
Anzorov came to France from Russia at the age of 6. He was living here as a refugee.
Gave money to children to keep an eye on Samuel
Anzorov carried out Samuel’s murder a week after the classroom incident. He reached school on 16 October. Kept waiting for Samuel outside the gate. He took information about Samuel’s coming out from many children. After this, money was given to two children to keep an eye on the teacher.
Anzorov waited outside the gate for about two hours. When Samuel came out, Anzorov followed him for some distance. He had a 12 inch knife in his hand. As soon as he got the chance, he attacked the teacher and beheaded him.
