New Delhi. The first ODI between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan was canceled due to rain. This match was being played at Harare Sports Club which could not be completed. The game was already delayed due to rain. After the start of the game, Azmatullah Umarzai, a fast bowler from Afghanistan, bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets but it rained again and his hard work was ruined.
Rain had already delayed the start of the game, after which the match was reduced to 28-28 overs. Afghanistan won the toss and invited Zimbabwe to bat. Zimbabwe scored 44 runs for five wickets in 9.2 overs. After this rain stopped the match again. Only Azmatullah Umarzai took 4 wickets out of 5. He had bowled 4.2 overs till the end of the match.

Azmatullah Umarzai took four wickets in 4.2 overs. He took the first wicket of Ben Karen. After this he took the wickets of Tadivanshe Marumani, Brian Bennett and Sean Williams. AM Ghazanfar took the second wicket for Afghanistan. According to the way Azmatullah Umarzai was bowling, Afghanistan could have won the match by restricting Zimbabwe to a small score. But the rain spoiled the hard work of Azmatullah Umarzai.
Before this ODI series, Afghanistan had defeated Zimbabwe 2-1 in the three-match T20 series. Let us tell you that both the teams will clash in the second ODI on 19th December. The third ODI will be played on 21 December. All matches will be held in Harare only. Then both the teams will take part in the two-match Test series starting from 26th December.
