Pooran has broken the 9-year-old record of fellow countryman explosive opener Chris Gayle. Left-handed batsman Pooran achieved this feat in the third match of the Caribbean Premier League 2024. Pooran, who played his first match in the current season, rained fours and sixes. He missed his century by just 3 runs. On the strength of Pooran’s stormy batting, Trinibago Knight Riders started the tournament in a bang by defeating St Kitts and Nevis by 44 runs.
