Yuzvendra Chahal continues his amazing performance in county cricket, takes five wickets and scores a special century in cricket


India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets for 45 runs for Northamptonshire against Derbyshire in the Division Two match of the English County Championship. India’s limited overs specialist bowler has completed his 100 wickets in first-class cricket during this period. Chahal has taken five wickets in first-class cricket for the third time. This season of county cricket has been great for Chahal.
Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets for 14 runs against Kent in the ODI Cup last month. After scoring 219 runs in the first innings of the current match, Northamptonshire bowled out Derbyshire for 165 runs in 61.3 overs with the brilliant bowling of Chahal and Rob Keogh (three wickets for 65 runs). Chahal took the wickets of Wayne Madsen, Aneurin Donald, Jack Chappell, Alex Thomson and Jack Morley during this period.
However, Chahal’s teammate Prithvi Shaw’s poor performance continues. He has scored just 4 and 2 runs in both innings of the match. Prithvi Shaw has also failed to cross the 50 mark in his last three first-class innings.
Chahal also took five wickets against former county Kent Spitfires in the ODI Cup last month. He devastated Kent’s batting line-up. Chahal also took five wickets for 14 runs in his 10 overs. Chahal took the wickets of Jaden Denley (22), Ekansh Singh (10), Grant Stewart (1), Beyers Swanepoel (01) and Nathan Gilchrist (06). Kent were all out for 82 runs in 35.1 overs. After which Northamptonshire won by 9 wickets.
