In 2003, Khaki was being shot near Nashik. During that time, there was a shoot in which a terrible accident was to happen and Aishwarya was also involved in it. During the shoot, the stuntman lost control while driving very fast. The result of which was that the car skidded and collided with Aishwarya’s car. Aishwarya and Tushar could not move quickly from their place and got hit by the car. The situation was so serious that Akshay Kumar had to intervene and pull Aishwarya Rai out of the car, who was immediately taken to the hospital.
told Ash’s mother
Big B was very saddened by the way the media portrayed Aishwarya’s accident. During a conversation with Rediff, Amitabh Bachchan spoke about the incident, talked about the gravity of the situation and expressed his concern for Aishwarya’s well-being during that tragic incident. Amitabh Bachchan asked Aishwarya’s mother – ‘Does she want to take her daughter back to Mumbai. We organised Anil Ambani’s private plane. Since Nashik does not have the facility to land the plane at night, we had to take permission from Delhi to land the plane at the military base 45 minutes away from the hospital. Seats had to be removed from the plane. And everyone is dismissing it as a small incident which was blown out of proportion.’
Big B could not sleep
He told how this accident had a deep impact on his mind. ‘I could not sleep for two nights. Seeing all this happening in front of my eyes! His back was cut by the thorns of the cactus. The bone at the back of his legs was broken. He had a lot of wounds and his injury was described as minor.’
