New Zealand has roped in Vikram Rathod for the Test matches in Asia. Vikram Rathod was part of Rahul Dravid’s coaching staff. He will be with the team only for the Afghanistan Test.
Apart from Rathore, Sri Lankan veteran Rangana Herath has also joined the Kiwi team. He will be with New Zealand for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Earlier this place was offered to Saqlain Mushtaq. However, he decided to back out due to his association with PCB.
On the other hand, New Zealand coach Gary Stead is quite open about both of them joining the team. He said, we are very excited about Vikram and Rangana joining. Both of them have a big stature in international cricket. I know that my players are also eager to learn from them.
