Karnataka won the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 title.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 final result: Karnataka team has won the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The team captained by Mayank Agarwal won this tournament for the fifth time. The most important thing is that Karnataka reached the finals of this tournament five times and became the champion all five times. In the title match played in Vadodara, Dhruv Shorey scored his third consecutive century but with the help of Smrana Ravichandran’s century innings, Karnataka managed to score big. Defeated Vidarbha by 36 runs in the final.
Karnataka team had reached the final of this competition for the fifth time. The team has been successful in winning the title match every time. Left handed batsman Smaran played an innings of 101 in 92 balls. Apart from this, Smaran added 160 runs with wicketkeeper batsman Krishnan Srijit (78 runs in 74 balls) for the fourth wicket. For the fifth wicket, he made an aggressive partnership of 106 with Abhinav Manohar (79 runs in 42 balls), taking Karnataka to 348 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs.

Chasing the target, despite Dhruv Shorey’s 110 and Harsh Dubey’s 63 runs in 30 balls in the last overs, Karnataka team was out for 312 runs in 48.2 overs. Harsh hit five fours and as many sixes and was the last batsman to be out. Shourie, who scored centuries in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, did not get good support from the other end. Vidarbha’s middle order came under pressure after the dismissal of ‘Player of the Tournament’ Karun Nair (27) on the ball of Prasidh Krishna. Vidarbha’s team had reached the finals without losing any match and due to the big innings of its top order batsmen in the tournament, the middle order did not get much chance to bat. His batting disintegrated under the pressure of the final.
There was serious discussion among the selectors about Karun’s name for a place in India’s ODI team. He scored 779 runs in this tournament at an average of 389.5. Dhruva Shorey hit some brilliant fours from one end and made a partnership of 56 runs with Nair and 62 runs with experienced Jitesh Sharma (34). However, Vidarbha team could not hit many boundaries in the middle overs due to which the pressure increased. Karnataka’s medium pace bowler Vasuki Kaushik impressed in this high-scoring match by taking three wickets for 47 runs in 10 overs. Abhilash Shetty took three wickets for 58 runs in 9.2 overs. While Prasidh also took three wickets but he gave away 84 runs in 10 overs.
Dhruv Shorey did not face much trouble in scoring runs against this bowler of the Indian team. He completed his century with a six against the famous batsman. Shourie hit eight fours and two sixes in his innings. Earlier, Smaran impressed by playing some attractive shots in the off side. Manohar put the boundary stick as soon as he came to the crease. He made an important contribution in taking the team close to 350 runs with 10 fours and four sixes in his 42-ball innings.
