Uttarakhand gets another new train, after Purnagiri, now devotees going to Siddhbali get a new train, commuting will become easier


New Delhi. The Ministry of Railways has now given Uttarakhand the gift of a new train between Kotdwar-Delhi-Kotdwar. Purnagiri Jan Shatabdi Express train was operated last week to facilitate the rail route for the darshan of Maa Purnagiri, the famous temple of Uttarakhand.

Today, the Railways has started a new train for the devotees going to Shri Siddha Bali Temple located in Kotdwar of Pauri Garhwal district. Now the devotees traveling between Delhi-Kotdwar will get great benefit from this new train.

Union Minister for Railways, Commerce and Industry and Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal today inaugurated the Siddhbali Daily Jan Shatabdi train between Kotdwar and Delhi Junction through video conferencing. Education Minister, Government of India Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and other distinguished guests were also present on this occasion.

On this occasion, Piyush Goyal thanked the railway employees who maintained the supply of medicines, coal and other essential commodities in the country during the pandemic. He informed that the Kotdwar-Delhi railway route has almost been electrified. Only 15 km of railway route is left, which is likely to be completed by the end of this month. After this, it will be possible to run trains with electric engines between Kotdwar and Delhi.

He also informed that the rail projects in Uttarakhand are running well. In the budget for the year 2021-22, Rs 4432 crore has been allocated to the rail projects, which is about 23 times more than the average budget given to the state between 2009 and 2014. Three new rail line projects are underway in Uttarakhand.

Work is underway on the railway line between Rishikesh and Karnaprayag. Development of Dehradun station has been planned at a cost of Rs 212 crore. With the Prime Minister paying special attention to Uttarakhand, a new wave of development is taking place here. This train will connect Kotdwar to the national capital and will bring social and economic development in Uttarakhand.

Schedule of train running between Kotdwar – Delhi Junction

Train number 04047 Kotdwar-Delhi Jn. Siddhbali Daily Jan Shatabdi Express regular service will depart from Kotdwar at 03.50 pm from March 04 and reach Delhi Jn. at 10.20 pm on the same day. In the return direction, train number 04048 Delhi Jn.-Kotdwar Siddhbali Daily Jan Shatabdi Express regular service will depart from Delhi Jn. at 07.00 am from March 04 and reach Kotdwar at 01.40 pm on the same day.

This train running with LHB coaches will have air-conditioned chair car, chair car and two generator cars. Siddhbali Daily Jan Shatabdi Express train will stop at Najibabad, Mauzzampur Narayan, Bijnor, Haldaur, Chand Siyau, Mandi Dhanaura, Gajraula, Hapur and Ghaziabad stations en route in both directions. Today this train is being run as an “inauguration special train”.
