New Delhi. Former President Donald Trump will soon meet PM Modi during his US visit. The purpose of this meeting is also political amidst the US presidential elections. Actually, Trump is talking about India-US trade relations but in Assam he is more concerned about Harley Davidson, a company that makes expensive bikes. This is the reason why he has started serving his political ends by becoming a dedh shaana during PM Modi’s US visit.
Along with calling PM Modi his friend, Trump also said that India has abused the trade relations with America, that is, it has taken advantage of it. During his first term, Donald Trump had withdrawn the special status given to India in trade. He also imposed many tariffs. After which India also imposed retaliatory tariffs on America. Trump himself was then specifically encouraging India to reduce the export duty imposed on Harley Davidson bikes. We are not making this claim. What did Trump say about Modi?
Referring to trade between the two countries, Trump said, “India is an exploitative country. He will meet me next week. Modi, you are a wonderful man. You have to understand one thing. These people are the smartest people, they are not backward at all. They are at the top of their game and they use it against us but India is very tough. Brazil is very tough. China is the toughest.”
No meeting scheduled with Trump
Modi is going on a visit to America from Saturday. He will first attend the Quad Leaders Summit at President Joe Biden’s house in Wilmington. After this, he will go to New York on Sunday to participate in a program of NRIs. PM Modi is also scheduled to address the United Nations summit and meet other government heads and business leaders.
