Now there will be punishment for sharing anti-national objectionable posts
The UP government has now made a provision of three years to life imprisonment for those who share anti-national objectionable posts. This social media policy has been approved by the full cabinet meeting. Along with this, there is also a provision of advertisement by firms and agencies to spread awareness among the people against these posts.
UP government will now spread information to the public through social media
UP government will now spread information about public welfare, beneficial schemes and achievements to the public on social media platforms like X, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM and YOUTUBE with the help of firms and agencies. This information will be spread through content, reel, post, tweet and video in the form of advertisements.
Agencies and firms are divided into followers and subscribers
In this, the agency and firm have been divided into followers and subscribers like 5 lakh, 4 lakh, 3 lakh and 30 thousand, whereas for the payment of YOUTUBE VIDEO, SHORT and PODCAST, it has been divided into 8 lakh, 7 lakh, 6 lakh and 4 lakh.
Posting anti-national content will now attract 3 years of punishment
The new social media policy of the UP government has a provision of 3 years to life imprisonment for posting anti-national content, whereas earlier, i.e. till today, action was taken under Section 66 E and 66 F of the IT Act. Also, posting indecent and obscene content can be considered criminal and one may have to face a lawsuit.
